Spontaneity sure does wonders, especially when you’re hungry. We breezed through midweek traffic and headed down to Café St. Honore located at Balagtas, Batangas City.
What sets this place apart from other cafes in the city is the charming wood and stone interior, reminding you of that rustic country side feel. For some reason, this place reminds us of Hogsmead. The cafe’s intricate orange cupcake sign outside the establishment would surely make you turn and say, “Hey, let’s go there”.
The name of the establishment is inspired by St. Honoratus of Amiens, the patron of bakers and patissiers (pastry chefs). The owners’ love for baking and good food is reflected through out the cafe.
We were greeted by warm smiles from the staff and instantly, you get a cozy feel-at-home vibe once inside. They serve pastas, pastries, sandwiches and burgers. Their outstanding choices are the drinks. On this particular day, we had the Café St. Honore beef burger, hot milk and matcha shake. You can also purchase your choice of pastries at the counter. They also do special orders, catering and deliveries for your special occasion.
The dining experience gets even more personal with the inspiring messages on the wall and fascinating pieces adorned the interiors. Seeing snippets of positive thoughts that can really make your day. We really had a wonderful time here. This place is relaxing where you can just really unwind and eat to your heart’s content.
All in all, the place is very lovely and the food is splendid. A special shout out to the savory French Fries!
Hot and Cold located at Alangilan, Batangas City was our stop one afternoon. We were peckish, and we were all craving for some rice meals that will satisfy our hunger after spending an entire afternoon doing shoots in the hot blistering outdoors. Summer weather is normal here in Batangas. ^^
We randomly threw suggestions to each other battling it out which one to stop by for today’s pig out – Hot and Cold versus the ultimate Hungry Hippo (next time!)

Thai restaurant! We didn’t plan it and our feet just brought us to check the new place! It was empty when we head inside. I noticed the buddhas first and then we asked for the menu. Continue reading “Food Tasting Weekend: Nung Ruat Thai”
Bigg’s Diner (now closed) at Batangas City. The interior is so retro! But the food is quite expensive for me. Yes, the food is somewhat okay, and the burger is yummy!

We went to a local pastry shop our friend introduced to us a week ago. As soon as we stepped inside, our eyes began to roam over the tray of cream puffs and the banana chip cupcakes on the left side of the counter. Also, those mouth watering eclairs just calling us out for a bite!
Dulcissima Bakeshop originally opened in areas of Lipa, Batangas and has found its way into Batangas City. There aren’t many pastry shops in this area so when this opened a few months ago, we were ecstatic especially because of the wide selection of pastries.
For a reasonable price, you can purchase banana chip and chocolate chilp cupcakes, eclairs and slices of cheesecakes – a perfect pairing for coffee and even cold beverages. Also, this is an awesome treat for yourself.
Dulcissima Bakeshop was located in Quirino Bldg., along P.Burgos St. cor Evangelista. Sadly, this gem has been closed since 2012.

Episode 1 of our FTW (Food Tasting Weekend)
Destination, Wadas Pizzeria! Days ago, we looked for the menu online so we know what we will order. We had tumbleweed burger, Mocha Oreo Fudge Frappuccino, and shared a regular pizza called Elise – Garlic Cheese Pizza.
We first saw Wadas Pizzeria in Lipa City and heard that they serve a wide selection of pizzas. So when they opened a branch here in our hometown we decided to visit their Batangas City branch. The interiors are all inspired by modern rustic chic. By this we mean wooden tables and chairs with a very relaxing and chill ambiance. They serve burgers, shakes, PIZZA, chicken and fries as well.
You must be willing to wait longer than expected for your food to be ready. Ours took a while but was worth it. The burgers and shakes were good but the real star would be their pizzas.
UPDATE: as with other previous posts, WADAS is also closed.
